Because it’s just so damn interesting.

More links to other blogs because I’m too busy reading them to write my own:

Ace of Spades has noticed a lot of new commenters with interesting new opinions. I’ve noticed the same thing, not so much on my blog but on lots that I read. Plus I just saw myself referred to as a “right-wing nut job” on another blog’s comment thread, which will keep me mildly confused for days. Archives, people. Seriously.

The Anchoress analyzes the left and it reminds me exactly why I stopped blogging politics and why I will again very soon, as in today.

Melissa Clouthier on feminists in all this.

Most interesting election ever. Hands down.

    Yes, very interesting.

You know, if the democrats had nominated someone like Biden or Dodd or many of the other candidates for the top slot, this would have been a walk away election. I don’t like Biden one bit, but there’s nothing scary about him in any normal sense. I would trust him to be a complete liberal and expand FDR’s socialist utopia but also be responsible about real threats.

Instead radical leftists have forced that party to accept a marxist whacko that I really can’t accept as a resonsible adult one bit.

The republicans didn’t even put any good candidates up for nomination (Thompson was a dud, the others just variations on Bob Dull) and they desparately deserved to get whacked for their pork and corruption. Add to that Bush’s tendency, like his father’s, to act as though he has no obligation to communicate intelligently and convince people of the rightness of what he’s doing. Daddy Bush looked at his watch in a debate with Clinton, and that one gesture characterizes the Bush family attitude towards us and our elections. They’re bored with it and they think they have a divine right to rule us. And they’re pretty radical socialists themselves. The result is that the republicans should be soundly trounced.

But in fact what’s happened is that the republican party’s just desserts to be thrown out of office has emboldened the extreme weirdos in the opposite side of the spectrum to the extent that they may have thrown away what was a gimme.

McCain is looking better every day and this Palin nomination is making this the most thrilling election I’ve seen in my lifetime.

Only time will tell if Palin is all she’s cut out to be, but it’s still going to be a fun campaign.

  2. David Colborne Says:

This is beyond perfect - Palin has been just the thing to show the world the true nature of your standard-issue ObamaBot X-2008. Before now, everybody assumed they were just mildly annoying, pretentious college types that thought they knew a little more than they really knew. Now, however, their true nature has been revealed - they aren’t just pretentious and annoying, they’re also misogynistic and will stop at nothing to get their way, no matter how many people they have to throw into the mud along their way.

Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say.

  3. Ed R Says:

As long as you don’t stop blogging in general, I’m right there with you.

  4. Haverwilde Says:

God, I didn’t know I was capable of enjoying the blog of a “right-wing nut job.”
However, it needs to be said that you are in fact a strong fundamentalist agnostic. Even though many of your readers have tried to destroy your non-belief, they have failed at every attempt. I for one applaud your adherence.
Also, I suspect that PETA has had you on their ‘watch list’ for sometime. Anyone that could abuse an animal with as much humor as you do, must be a closet conservative if not an actual you know, a right wing nutcase, uh hunter, like that Sarah person.
On a more serious note, I read some of the liberal blogs today. It is indeed sad, that portions of this country will go to such lengths to demonize an opponent. I had to quit reading them.
In the final analysis this country will survive no matter who is elected. But the damage to the future is profound, when your politics requires that you destroy your political opponent, instead of debating your opponents ideas and proposals. We have allowed the creation of a monster in the two party system. It is past time for a major shift in our politics. We need to start talking about issues and let the best proposals win elections.

Has anyone spotted the use of “gate” in all this . . . drek?
If a political story’s got legs “gate” will be attached to it.
    Bristolgate. Preggersgate.

  6. R.L. Hunter Says:

    Richard
Unfortuneatly yes it has but I’m not going to put the exact term up to help prevent it from getting top ranking on google.
Did you even read the part about new commenters with new opinions?
I’m not going to help the leftist hate machine score points, and would encourage others not to do so either.

  7. 14 Karat Says:

Jeez, Richard … doesn’t anybody click on links anymore … I posted this in the last thread : ) the 10 mistakes and scandals!

    They’re ridiculously hypocritical, believe me.

Oh, and I’m defining this before the lefties do, because I am going to get called a “Palindrone” for sure, if it gets defined the way I’m thinking it will.

PALINDRONE(N): A leftist commenter who unceasingly spouts mindless, anti-Palin, ranting liberal ideology espousing it as progressive and forward thinking; individual is blissfully unaware that its argument is fundamentally ass-backwards to actual feminist/liberal philosophy, resulting in 360° of circular logic.

EXAMPLES: From the usual liberal locations.

I think the bigger story here is why Sara was doing Fetal Genetic Testing at 4 months. Was she considering an abortion potentially? Usually this is a matter of privacy, but since she seems so ready to take away a women’s right to privacy, this is something that might need discussing. Are there other reasons to do 4th month fetal genetic testing besides considerations of abortion?

    And:

What type of mother would subject her 17 year old daughter to national media and public curiosity at such a time? What type of mother would leave her 4-month old disabiled son for a national campaign? Only a mother whose personal ambition outweights her responsibility to her children. Palin is disgusting!

USED IN A SENTENCE: Did you catch that dumbass palindroner spewing her vitriolic “Palin’s husband can’t take care of his family” bullshit last night? Seriously, what an asshat droner!

SYNONYMS: asshat windbag, know-nothing blowhard, liberal democrat, feminazi, fucking whine-maker, Andrew Sullivan, Teddy Kennedy, the Daily Kos.

There’s a point that the news media - and certainly the Left - is missing here.

Having a child is wonderful news. Sometimes it’s inconvenient - but it’s good news.

This will be Sarah and Todd Palin’s first grandchild. To look at this as a negative would take a very cynical outlook. Think about having your first grandchild: the news might come at an inconvenient time - but it’s really good news!

  9. R.L. Hunter Says:

    Palindrone, that’s perfect 14 karat.

Another point, the blogosphere, or at least the political aspect of it, has been all Palin all the time. Obama aint been getting too much airplay. I think think thats why he made his “families are off limits” statement. That was Obama speak for “Will you morons shut the fuck up so I can get some press coverage?”

  10. Lincoln Says:

Some of these f–ktwits are on Twitter sending me stupid ass comments like “What do you think of Palin now that her daughter got knocked up?!?!? Ha ha!!”

Better than what I think of Hussein “babies are punishment” Obama, dumbass.

  12. undertow Says:

Most interesting election ever? Next thing you know you’ll start saying it’s the most important election ever.

I will grant you that it is interesting. The reason being is that both sides are losing their ever loving minds. Or else it could be that we’ve gotten old enough to realize that both major parties are senile (apologies to McCrazy).

And having a child is wonderful news if a)you want a child and b)it doesn’t end up on the welfare rolls already sucking my check dry with extra taxes.

  13. Ted Says:

Most interesting election ever? No. Not even close. but In my lifetime, maybe. I’m not saying that this isn’t interesting, I’m just thinking the 1860’s were a tad more interesting.

That said, while I wish I could reanimate Reagan and run him again, it’s not going to happen. Having two waste-cutting crusaders on the ticket appeals to me, and I’ll accept it. They may miss on other things, but at least they know that they need to trim the waste. I also like the fact that they don’t circle the wagons and cover their ears when it’s time to clean house.

I’ll go out on a limb, without much research. So far, she seems awesome. Her being a looker is okay, I don’t much care in this case. She just seems to kick ass, and I like that in a person. Like Cheney without the scowl.

I just hope that if she becomes vp she doesn’t have any hunting accidents. You don’t use birdshot on moose. I’m willing to modify that opinion depending who’s downrange.

  14. Jeff Bonwick Says:

    Rachel,

PLEASE don’t stop blogging on politics! I understand your desire to avoid wasting time on pointless flame wars, but hey — that’s what we’re for!

I am asking you to establish a ‘blogless shelter’.

The blogless are the least among us, lower even than fat people with bad mortgages. As an elite blue-blog, it’s the least you can do for your fellow citizens — and come November, it’ll be mandatory anyway.

We blogless are not asking for much: just free bandwidth, free storage, and a Constitutional right to defecate on your private property. Plus an open invitation, to make us feel welcome, like this:

    Jesus in a Cuisinart!

    [link to something shocking]

    Open thread!

Why should you bother to help the blogless?

Because in this country, at this moment, this is the change we’ve been hoping to believe we’ve been waiting for.

  16. Guaman Says:

After reading the comments section on the Washington Post the other day I almost became ill. Some of these people coming after the VP Candidate are just vicious evil mean. It is my fervent hope that Mrs. Palin remains unaffected by the ugly attacks, stays on topic during the campaign, and goes to Washington to do what she did in Alaska.

People in the Territories don’t get to vote for President, but we can donate. I sure did and may again.

I’d like to check my morbid curiosity about what is being said, but so far my disgust level hasn’t risen above the desire to see how low they will go.

I fully understand you’re going back to blogging about dogs and possums. Just keep writing and I’ll keep coming by to read it.

  17. Technomad Says:

My usual reaction to teenage pregnancy is “fetuus delendi sunt,” but this is the Palins’ call to make, not mine. The rest of the world can just butt the hell out.

I’m so pro-abortion that I make Planned Parenthood look like right-to-life fanatics, but the whackoes who’re ostensibly on my side disgust me nearly as much as the madmen on the other side.

  18. dogette Says:

    How about UnimaginativeNewswriters-Gate?

I love the way you write no matter what topic, but it’d also be fine with me if you never wrote another word on politics. I’ve just never seen the point of arguing politics on blogs; how often does someone’s mind get “changed” or even become truly “hopeful”?

    “Dogette” (Hopeful, but not changing)

P.S. Please present noogies on the brain-bumps of Sunny and Maggie at your earliest convenience.

  20. Canton Says:

Sweeties, make sure you keep calling Palin a small-town “Mayor” instead of “Governor.”

Just like how all the media referes to Obama, a ’state senator!’

  21. maya Says:

But dogette, “UnimaginativeNewswriters-Gate” is everyday! duh!

And of course you’re right about the other part too: I don’t see any point in debating politics with people because you’re not likely to change their mind, so it just makes you look like a programmed machine for quoting all the talking points.

And 14k has hit another home run with Palindrone. Awesome as usual.

The main problem I have with this whole muck-raking thing is that even though the wackos were throwing out such obscene shit based on absolutely nothing, they still scored a hit. The campaign revealed a secret because the wackos (accidentally) got too close. So now the wackos are emboldened to try again and see what sticks. Gee, I can’t wait.

  22. buzzion Says:

Plus I just saw myself referred to as a “right-wing nut job” on another blog’s comment thread, which will keep me mildly confused for days

Well Rachel you aren’t slobbering and drooling all over pictures of Obama so clearly you must be a right-wing nut job. Only a bitter gun clinging bible thumpin racist woman afraid Obama is going to steal her away from her man would be opposed to the messiah.

I think the bigger story here is why Sara was doing Fetal Genetic Testing at 4 months. Was she considering an abortion potentially?

Oh this one I love. Because you know why in the world would an older pregnant woman get testing done on a baby when its pretty common knowledge that the older you get the more potential for risk there is in pregnancy.

I think its also pretty sad and pathetic that all these idiots on the left are so up in arms about Bristol’s pregnancy. They’d be much happier if she had been about 2 years younger and gotten an abortion without telling her parents. This really is Cheney’s lesbian daughter all over again for them.

  23. Jim in PA Says:

The truth is that people are very interested. The choice to put SP on the ticket was announced last Friday. Ninety percent of the people in this country had never heard of her and knew nothing about her - so, people are interested. The problem has been that for the last four days, she has been basically invisible. Has she given one face-to-face interview since the announcement? The reality is that we live in a world where cable news networks have to fill 24 hours a day and people surf the net 24 hours a day and in the case of a void of information on a topic of extreme interest, the void gets filled. And, unfortunately, in the absence of substance to fill the void the void gets filled with crap. That sucks, but it shouldn’t be surprising. I think the McCain campaign really dropped the ball in not getting her “out there” with interviews right after the announcement.

Right now the biggest problem isn’t what the mudslingers are saying - it’s that the mudslingers are the only ones doing the talking.

  24. Redhead Infidel Says:

Wanted to drop this link into Rachel’s comments from a reasonable atheist, Steven den Beste:

What’s curious about all this is the way that the lefties (including the MSM) are trying to tailor their message to what they perceive as being the way the evangelical right thinks about things. But what they’re actually doing is believing their own lies and propaganda, and thus attempting to appeal to a gross caricature instead. (And in so doing they are revealing an extremely deep and unacknowledged bigotry.)

When they don’t get the reaction they expect, I’m expecting to start hearing claims of politically-motivated hypocrisy. The logic will be that the Christians are not living up to the caricature that the left holds of the Christians’ views. The Christians won’t act the way that the lefties think Christians should act in a situation like this, which is to go with the full Scarlet Letter treatment on the Palin family, a rejection of the McCain ticket, a refusal to vote, and thus an Obama victory in November.

Good stuff - and pretty well summarizes what we’ve already said here at Rachel’s (and Ace’s).

  25. Monkeyhumper Says:

    Hey Rachel.

Have you ever encountered anything you could possibly think could maybe be Bigfoot because you just can’t explain what you heard, smelled and saw?

Or maybe you understand why people think they encountered bigfoot because some shit is just so fucking freaky that they can’t come up with any other explanation??

  26. Adam Says:

Will someone explain to me why Rachel commenting or discussing politics on her blog is a problem? I always figured the idea of a blog or any kind of written medium open to the public was to write about whatever the hell it is you’re feeling that day. If the medium turns to politics, why is the assumption that she’s trying to convert anyone?

I don’t see anyone thinking she’s trying to do conversion when she talks of anything else. :)

Personally, I’m actually kind of excited at the VP pick, but I don’t understand why most people are “shocked” at the left/liberal reactions to her. This is how these people react to everything they don’t absolutely love (and saying that there ARE things they like in any non-enigmatic fashion is probably going a bit far, anyway).

Hm… honestly, I just can’t see any of this stuff coming out about Palin actually hurting the platform. It just looks suspiciously like THE conservative ideal.

  27. Jim Carson Says:

Adam, the only person saying that Rachel discussing politics on her blog is a problem, is Rachel.

The reason is that politics brings scorn from adversaries, and occasionally even her friends, which makes blogging a drag.

At least we know one thing.

    Democrats hate women.

Esp women who are successful on their own.

  30. maggie33076 Says:

Re the far left blogs: The Anchoress expressed it well (as usual); what’s stunning is the hate. There’s not a trace of any underlying goodwill, even of the “I disagree strenuously but don’t wish you dead” variety. The vicious, gleeful hatred being spewed is frightening–there’s such a lack of perspective, such a lack of humanity–it’s like a pack of rabid, slavering hyenas eyeing any potential prey. We’re one (very young) country, and my God, we’re all in this together, aren’t we?

  31. Rachel M Says:

This is going to blow up in the Dems faces. Remember how Kerry/Edwards brought up Cheney’s gay daughter in debates? How’d that work out for them? And she was an adult.
Has the Republican party seen much backlash because of Mary Cheney’s baby with her gay partner? I can’t remember the last time that was in the news. Seriously, who the fuck cared about that? And again she was an adult.
I don’t think the Average Joe will take nicely to Dems or the media picking on a pregnant 17 year old. This is much more different than taking an interest in John Edwards’ affair and subsequent love child. His wife has cancer and he made his devotion to her a central part of his campaign. My grandma - a 2 time breast cancer survivor- wants her campaign donation back!
If every woman who had a shotgun wedding votes for McCain, they will put him in the White House. I think I was the only person in my family NOT to be knocked up at my wedding! LOL! I’m exaggerating but not that much!

  32. Bod Says:

On e thing that struck me in the shower (figuratively, I mean).

There’s lots of comments about resonance, particularly about people who were also in the position of needing to marry before the birth of their first child, possibly leaning pro-Palin.

The other unmentioned point is, let’s take a look at the women who did abort their ‘little embarassments’ - guilt and regret are reported as being a very common result - as I remember, the ‘Roe’ of Roe vs Wade has come out as having wished she’d gone full term.

My point is this - what happens if a significant portion of these women side with Palin? I don’t want to sound cynical, but couldn’t this result in flipping as many as a few thousand undecideds or former democrats in just about any/every state? Sounds to me like that’s another potential demographic that could prove devastating to the razor-thin democratic majorities in states like Ohio.

    Ladies - thoughts please?

[Slight resonance with Rachel M's thoughts above - and Rachel, I think your Grandmother should launch a class-action lawsuit]

Corection: Thanks for the correction Buzzion - I’m not a *close* observer of the life/choice dialog - but I think you’re right, the flip is even more telling]

  33. Redhead Infidel Says:

I am really starting to love this woman:

A nervous young McCain staffer took it upon himself to explain to Palin the facts of life in a national campaign, the intense scrutiny she’d be under from the media, the viciousness of the assault that she’d be facing, etc.:

Palin: “Thanks for the warning. By the way, do you know what they say the difference is between a hockey mom and a Pit Bull?”

    McCain aide: “No, Governor.”

Palin: “A hockey mom wears lipstick.”

  34. buzzion Says:

    Bod,

The other unmentioned point is, let’s take a look at the women who did abort their ‘little embarassments’ - guilt and regret are reported as being a very common result - as I remember, the ‘Roe’ of Roe vs Wade has come out as having wished she’d gone full term.

Just to correct you, Roe did go full term. The Supreme Court decision didn’t come in time fore her to have an abortion. I believe that what you are thinking of is that she has since changed her position on abortion and is Pro-Life. I would call that an even stronger flip than if someone had an abortion and regretted it, since you could still be pro-choice for other women just not yourself.

Mary Cheney has a baby now? News to me.

Anyhoo…on my drive to work it hit me…these nutbags have read one too many V.C. Andrews books. I used to read them when I was 12 and they are pretty sick in their plots. Lots of incest, pregnancy, hiding pregnancy, lying about pregnancy - major issues. So of course if the left-tards also read these books it’s no wonder their mind immediately goes to those scenarios. I of course, have been reformed, and don’t read them any longer.

I also heard on the radio this morning that someone found Bristol’s boyfriend’s myspace page (that has been taken down) about how he didn’t want to have kids. Does anyone think they were pressured to get married? :( I hope not. Getting marred *just* to get married isn’t the remedy to a hard situation. It just makes it worse. *sigh* Those poor kids.

  38. Rachel M Says:

Andrew Sullivan is calling for Palin’s medical records on her pregancy. If Hillary had won would he and the other liberal (he’s NOT a conservative as he claims) bloggers have asked for her medical records pertaining to abortions? No freaking way. Uterii (is that plural for uterus?) should be off limits!

Bod, my Grandma is 89 and I don’t think she even knows what a class action lawsuit is. Edwards has been good for the fact that he has made her pissed and gives her something to live for!! My Gma has always voted for a Democrat but this year is voting for McCain. She said she can’t vote for “O’Black Barama.” She’s not even trying to be funny when she says that. She thinks that’s his name.

Barack Obama began his career as an Illinois State legislator in 1997. He went on to become a U.S. Senator for Illinois.

Sarah Palin has five (5) more years of experience in elected office than Barack Obama.

And Barack Obama has zero executive experience in public office. Sarah Plain is the chief executive of the largest State in the nation (Alaska) and Commander-in-Chief of the Alaska National Guard.

I think the bigger story here is why Sara was doing Fetal Genetic Testing at 4 months. Was she considering an abortion potentially?

My wife and I are expecting our 3rd child early next year. Since my wife is now 40, we’re doing all of the non-invasive tests (ultrasound, blood test) to try and determine if our baby has issues for planning purposes. If something turns up, we’ll have time to try and adjust for a special needs baby. We won’t abort, regardless. Whatever we get will be just fine.

Before anyone asks, yes, I do know people with Down’s children. Do I want one? No I don’t; I want the best for my children and a congenital genetic defect is not in any way, shape, or form, the best for a child. But if I get one, it will be okay. I will love him or her as much as I love the first two, and I won’t consider myself “punished” with such a child. I will consider myself blessed, regardless of how it turns out.

Now, I know it’s difficult for those of your ilk to do so, but just try thinking about things before you start slammin’ that keyboard. In fact, you might even (and I know this will be hard for you to comprehend - much less do)try thinking for yourself rather than letting kos and huff do it for you. Give it a shot. You might like it.

  53. mightysamurai Says:

Because he’s a Moby. A liberal pretending to be a conservative. And like most Mobys, he’ll never ever get the hint that nobody is fooled by his act. He’ll just keep up this facade of conservatism as long as he can. Then, when his liberalism becomes too apparent for even him to deny, he’ll either quietly slip out of the room (and possibly re-emerge under a new alias) or claim that he’s “a different kind of conservative” and complain that our definition of conservatism is “too narrow” (there’s a troll over at RWN named “Metatron” who likes to do this a lot).

  54. Monkeyhumper Says:

Moby, or Bigfoot? We hear strange noises, smell something funky… we know something is there. Then they fuckin’ disappear.

Similar to those Bigfoot creatures that make a lot of noise when they see people then bow up and get a little aggressive right before they vanish into thin air.

No poop, no fur, no candy wrappers, nothing.

Just not near as fascinating and nowhere near as stealthy.

  55. Rob Farrington Says:

I was online at work recently (the boss goes home at 5, whereas I work through the evening, heh!), when I noticed someone was looking over my shoulder:

“Oh, so you’re reading Rachel again, are you? That right wing bitch.”

I was open-mouthed for a second, before regaining my composure.

“Well actually, Trotsky - sorry, I meant Tony - she’s what might be described as a Social Liberal.”

    “Social Liberal? What’s that?”

“It means that she’s not against things such as gay marriage, for example.”

    “Oh.”

I suppose he must have just read enough to know that Rachel’s American and plans to vote Republican. He’d probably go nuts if he knew that she owned guns too, although he probably suspects that already.

Just to annoy him, I now also visit Cassy Fiano and Kim du Toit whenever he’s around!

  56. Rob Farrington Says:

Or should that have been “Classical Liberal”? Or “Moderate Conservative”?

Oh, I don’t know. It shut him up, anyway.

  57. 14 Karat Says:

The telling difference between the right and left in America, is that the male membership of the two major parties wish they could bone their respective vice-presidential candidate.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! YES!

  58. R.L. Hunter Says:

    Rob Farrington Says:

Or should that have been “Classical Liberal”? Or “Moderate Conservative”?

There are a lot of us out here in the middle that don’t fit into any of the standard categories, leaning this way on one issue and that way on another. And the way the Parties try to get our vote is telling.

McCain picks a running mate that broadens his base and gives us more space to find common ground.

Obama picks a running mate that’s just more of the same and lets his party try and browbeat us into voting for him. (if you don’t vote for Obama you’re racist)

  59. Jim Carson Says:

Despite poking fun at my new love and her patron, this satirical voicemail for Senator Sandra Palin of Arkansas is fookin foony.

  60. Rob Farrington Says:

R.L. Hunter, I tried visiting a few Wikipedia pages and can’t decide whether I believe in Conservative Libertarianism, or in Libertarian Conservatism (apparently, NOT to be confused with each other). I might also possibly be a Neolibertarian.

Oh, I give up. I’m going to create a new Wikipedia entry for “Fairly Easy - Going Christian Conservative But With Libertarian Tendencies And Who Thinks That Sarah Palin RAWKSism”.

Anyone want to join my new party? Only $25 a year for membership.

AND you get a very long bumper sticker.

  61. R.L. Hunter Says:

AND you get a very long bumper sticker.

Rob I drive a Volvo, the bumper isn’t that big. :-)

  62. metro1 Says:

Here’s Palin during the debate in the Alaska race for Governor.

    She kicked butt:

  63. castocreations (hzk) Says:

Can someone help me on this one? I’m in an argument at another forum and brought up Bill Ayers. And they linked to the Chiquita “terrorist” group link to McCain. ??? Huh? I’ve never even heard of this!

  64. R.L. Hunter Says:

    Rob,

Seriously, I’m a single white 43 year old man, A machinist for a living, live in a trailer park, own guns, pro abortion, and drive a volvo AND a pickup(not at the same time)
So where in hell do I fit in with either party?

  65. metro1 Says:

    Rob Farrington:

I’m a libertarian conservative. The natural party for me is the Republican Party.

That’s why people like me are so excited about Gov. Palin. She’s a real libertarian conservative - who will help us take the Party back toward the principles of Ronald Reagan.

  66. Rob Farrington Says:

    R.L and metro1:

Ah well, maybe I should stop worrying about it. All I know is that I’m a Brit who my fiance’s family (very conservative and from the Deep South, more guns lying around everywhere than if there’d been a minor explosion in a rifle factory) seem to think I’m OK.

I also tend to annoy extreme left-wingers, which I suppose is always a good sign.

  67. no, not THAT Glenn Says:

Rachel, I followed your link over to Melissa Clouthier (never heard of.) Much mention of MoDo over there inspired a comment. Hope it’s ok I plagiarize myself:

I’m a logician, not a doctor. I apply logic. I do that in life.

    – Widemouthed Maureen Dowd [albeit not a mother herself?] noted Cindy Sheehan and generalized a Postulate about mothers. Remember?

    – Gov Palin’s brood makes her demonstratively a mother. There’s little controversy about that, quibble some may about details.

    – According to the Dowd Postulate, Gov Palin has ABSOLUTE MORAL AUTHORITY, so all should stfu and listen.

No? What changed? Why is this different?
