Here’s some more “world opinion” for you.

911-world-poll.jpg

Well all rightee then.

Thanks, Turkey. Thanks, Mexico. Assholes. Especially Mexico, and here’s why, from Political Vindication:

…68 percent of our friends down south are willing to entertain the idea that the Americans they know are in fact cold blooded killers. For all the international ignorance on display here in this poll - It is Mexico’s response that draws my Ire. Why?

Because no other country in that list ought to know us as well as Mexico does. Were it not for the generosity and widespread apathy of Americans the client country of Mexico would be a collection of mining towns and cartel communities. When we contemplate that the United States accepts the suppository of Mexico’s brightest and most desperate, fashioning our laws and institutions to reward lawbreaking so as to assuage the Guadalupan guilt complex we’ve been nursing, how can it be that Mexicans look to the north and see terrorists? Billions of dollars flow from our country to theirs, our government is even paying them to guard their side of the border. Across this nation sanctuary cities light up the welcome sign for illegal immigrants, then hide those that murder and rape Americans, and finally refuse to deport, much less keep out alien criminals who prey repeatedly on citizens of a country that feeds their families back home. I would not blame Mexicans for thinking us a bunch of chumps; easily fooled and ripe for the picking. But what here would lead any Mexican to believe we are the type of people that would murder our own? If we were that greedy, driven to execute innocents for want of oil and power, why stage an attack by Arabs when we could have thrown a few Mexicans on those planes and declared war on the oil rich country right on our border?

Exactly. Screw you, Mexico.

So. It’s the 7th anniversary of the day our government - according to large numbers of “the world’s people” - committed mass murder on its own citizens, all for that sweet, sweet oil (that we still don’t have - where’s my oil dammit?!) And also because President Bush is a chimp.

I don’t know, with him being the submoronic imbecile they say he is, I’ve always thought it pretty remarkable that he managed to pull off such a feat in the less than nine months he’d been in office by then. But then I remember he’s just the puppet; KKKarl Rove and The Jooos are the real masterminds.

I don’t mean to make light of anything on such an anniversary. It just makes me angry that so many people are stupid enough to buy into idiotic conspiracy theories, and also that so many Americans don’t even seem to care about it anymore. I guess all of this is natural; people will be stupid and people will forget. It still makes me sad.

… meaning … so a huge number of people are stupid, who’d believe it?

I’m curious about the nuance in the question … perhaps people feel the US is responsible because we incited it, or we encouraged it, etc. vs. we physically did it and blamed Al Qaeda.

Having been to Egypt, and witnessed how poor, stupid, and dishonest they are, it comes as no surprise that the ME countries are slow to blame themselves.

When I saw DK I was thinking Denmark? Why would anyone think Denmark was behind 9/11.

And yeah, Mexico, you suck. I say that from right across the border in San Diego County. I keep forgetting to put the Border Patrol on my speed dial so I can call when I see those asshole illegals strolling through my little town in the mountains. Damn illegals stole me car, left a campfire that started a wildfire resulting in our evacuation, and led the Border Patrol on a high speed chase that ending in a rollover accident in front of our house, just to name a few reasons why they piss me, personally, off. Also, those that do drive here, legally, I assume, are sucky drivers.

  5. shawn Says:

You know who is to blame right? Mainly US, or rather the U.S. media and every dimwit with too much time on their hands who blogs about conspiracy theories. It is sad, but these people don’t know that the rest of the world IS listening. Then there is Michael Mooron, and he wants the world to listen and wants the U.S. to go down in a ball of flames so he can have his socialist version of America. On this anniversary, please remember how you felt when you first saw those planes hit and remember the rescue workers, the people who dug through the rubble, strewn with pieces of our fellow citizens. What did liberals think, when their life was in danger and they were suddenly so vulnerable and the only people protecting their sorry ass was the military they scorn so readily. Fighter jets flying around Manhattan, who would have thought it would happen. Still no major terrorist attacks since that day. Thank you George W. Bush, a long fruitful life for you, a job well done.

I love the South Park episode on the 9/11 conspiracy, and I don’t usually like South Park.

The Mystery of the Urinal Deuce

Especially the part where Pres. Bush is faking them out about the conspiracy:

Yes. Quite simple to pull off, really. All I had to do was have explosives planted in the base of the towers. Then on 9/11 we pretended like four planes were being hijacked.when really we just rerouted them to Pennsylvania, then flew two military jets into the World Trade Center filled with more explosives, then shot down all the witnesses of Flight 93 with an F-15 after blowing up the Pentagon with a Cruise missile. It was only the world’s most intricate and flawlessly-executed plan ever, ever.

    And Kyle says- “Really?”

    *forgot the blockquote

How could the ME countries blame themselves? They’re God’s Allah’s chosen ones with the only religion that anybody should belong to. There’s nothing wrong with the fact that they’re a bunch of closeted gay misogynists who decided Biblical times was a perfect place to stop developing because some camel-humping sand jockey wrote a book saying it’s OK to boink nine-year-old girls as long as you’re doing it in the name of God Allah and also remembering to either behead or tax the infidels stupid enough not to want to get in on this action.

Who could possibly find that less than appealing. Or blameworthy for all their (many) problems, for that matter?

I disagree with the 68% number. You can’t add up all the choices that aren’t al Qaeda and jooos and call it U. S. when there already a subset within the set called US gov’t. So really it’s 30% of Mexicans think we’re terrorists, which is really not a whole lot different than the other countries on the list. But I’m all for saying “fuck you very much, Mexico.” I don’t have a problem with that.

  11. buzzion Says:

Especially the part where Pres. Bush is faking them out about the conspiracy:

That was a great episode but I think they kind of ruined it. When it originally aired they used a different voice for Bush. They gave him this completely sinister voice, making him sound more like an evil South Park Villain than just an “evil” Bush. The next time it aired and the put the Bush characteristic into the voice. I think they should have left it there, giving the impression that Bush is only faking the way he talks, especially for that first part with him.

I think there is a possibility that you are misinterpreting the Mexican reaction somewhat. The Mexican government IS a criminal conspiracy - at all levels - and has been for more than sixty years. Many Mexicans doubtless consider this to be the natural state of affairs vis á vis governments (they have a point). Therefore, if something horrific has happened in the U.S., it is natural for them to suspect that the U.S. government had something to do with it. Not because it is the U.S. government per se, but because it is the government of the territory in which the horror happened.

Add this to the torrent of tripe pouring from Left-Wing American pie-holes, and I can see where you might get the numbers we are seeing.

  33. Chris Says:

If I may, I’d like to put up a quote from Ann Coulter’s latest column about the 9/11 attacks. You should read the whole column if you get a chance.

We can thank God that President George Bush didn’t care about doing the safe thing for himself; he cared about keeping Americans safe. And he has, for seven years.

If Bush’s only concern were about his approval ratings, like a certain impeached president I could name, he would not have fought for the Patriot Act and the war in Iraq. He would not have resisted the howling ninnies demanding that we withdraw from Iraq, year after year. By liberals’ own standard, Bush’s war on terrorism has been a smashing, unimaginable success.

A year after the 9/11 attack, The New York Times‘ Frank Rich was carping about Bush’s national security plans, saying we could judge Bush’s war on terror by whether there was a major al-Qaida attack in 2003, which—according to Rich—would have been on al-Qaida’s normal schedule.

Rich wrote: “Since major al-Qaida attacks are planned well in advance and have historically been separated by intervals of 12 to 24 months, we will find out how much we’ve been distracted soon enough.” (”Never Forget What?” New York Times, Sept. 14, 2002.)

There wasn’t a major al-Qaida attack in 2003. Nor in 2004, 2005, 2006 or 2007. Manifestly, liberals thought there would be: They announced a standard of success that they expected Bush to fail.

As Bush has said, we have to be right 100 percent of the time, the terrorists only have to be right one time. Bush has been right 100 percent of the time for seven years—so much so that Americans have completely forgotten about the threat of Islamic terrorism.

For his thanks, President Bush has been the target of almost unimaginable calumnies—the sort of invective liberals usually reserve for seniors who don’t separate their recyclables properly. Compared to liberals’ anger at Bush, there has always been something vaguely impersonal about their “anger” toward the terrorists.

By my count, roughly one in four books in print in the world at this very moment have the words “Bush” and “Lie” in their title. Barnes & Noble has been forced to add an “I Hate Bush” section. I don’t believe there are as many anti-Hitler books.

Despite the fact that Hitler brought “change,” promoted clean, energy-efficient mass transit by making the trains run on time, supported abortion for the non-master races, vastly expanded the power of the national government and was uniformly adored by college students and their professors, I gather that liberals don’t like Hitler because they’re constantly comparing him to Bush.

Razor sharp tongue, acid wit, and almost as good looking as a certain blogger who shall remain nameless but has the initials “Rachel Lucas”. What more could you ask for?

That just kills me. For years I have had a terribly difficult time trying to wrap my head around the logic that says: It’s OK if thousands of innocent people die because a few corners of the world can’t get their shit together and need a scapegoat. And other countries who should damn well know better actually buy into it. Fucking socialist bastards.

It’s the major reason about why I’m totally serious when I say if the economy could survive it we should lock down our borders - and those of our very good allies - and watch the world burn. Oh, you guys need help… again? Fuck you. Fuck you and fuck your self-important “multicultural” attitude. We’re tired of playing a game with rules that shift but always paint us as the bad guys. And I’m personally tired of watching friends and family spend unGodly amounts of time in the ass-crack of the world just so some eurotrash fucknugget can stay free and safe enough to tell us how mean and imperialistic we are and how dumb the American public is for giving them that gift. That’s right, a gift, because it’s the fact that we spend shit-loads of money on our military that they can afford to have a liberal’s wet dream of socialized everything and what amounts to a bunch of boy scouts playing dress-up as various ineffectual militaries.

When someone needs aid, who’s planes are in the air full of cargo? Oh, that’s right, ours. When the troops of other countries need to be moved quickly and efficiently for international operations who is equipped to deal with that? Us, you say? When the soldiers of other countries get hurt in that ass crack full of sand who often flies them back to Europe? My God, could it be… us?

Fucking bastards all. If I had a left nut they could suck it.

I think part of that is because the world had a belief. Various nations had been dealing with acts of terror on their homesoil. Suddenly America has had it as well, and it was a devestating wake up call. So the rest of the world could feel sympathy for America because we had joined them in that boat.

But then we did what they didn’t like. We got in the boat, but then we didn’t want to just sail where the wind would take us. We wanted to slap a motor on it and soup it up. We started bringing harpoon guns on. We wanted to fight back.

When the rest of the world was getting punched in the face they would just walk away and ignore it. We got punched in the face and pulled out the brass knuckles before hitting back.

The one thing that I’ll always think of when September Eleventh comes up is the story of a man named Tony Savas. He was a building inspector who had overseen the near-constant renovations and changes made to the World Trade Center interior for years as spaces were bought, sold, and expanded.

When the first plane hit, Tony managed to get down from the upper floors, helping people towards the exits all the way down. Once he reached the lobby, he could have chosen to get out, to get to safety, to get back to his wife and three children. However, he saw the firemen arriving to mount rescue attempts. So he called his son and told him what had happened, and that he had to go back in. Tony had keys for every lock, the blueprints in his head, and he knew every back way and short cut in the Towers. No one else could do what he could do; no one else could lead the firemen to the people they needed to reach. So they went back inside, determined to save as many as they could.

Tony Savas and the firemen he was guiding did not return.

When Marvel Comics put together “Moment of Silence”, a special sold to help fund the relief efforts, they chose to lead with Tony’s story, not just because one of the Savas children was a Marvel intern, but because Tony’s final hours embodied the principle of great responsibility coming with great power: Tony sacrificed his life without hesitation in the hope that his skills and knowledge could be put to use saving others.

With the utmost sincerity and respect, I salute the memory of Tony Savas, the firemen, policemen, and rescue workers who died with him on September Eleventh, and the members of our Armed Forces who are even now working to prevent another September Eleventh from befalling us, because they are truly Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

  60. Don Says:

    Rachel, easy on the Mexicans!

Not to make excuses for Mexico, but I lived there for a few years and got to know the people pretty well. Here’s the deal. Most people in Mexico are pretty much illiterate, if not literally, certainly in the political sense. As such, they are easily manipulated, primarily by the left, into thinking that all things USA are evil, conspiracy, etc. Also, their government is amazingly corrupt. It’s hard for them to comprehend good government.

For instance, when I told a friend that Watergate was a break-in to a guy’s shrink’s office and subsequent lies about it, his response was: “That’s all it was? There was no murder? no large scale graft? I can’t believe you ran a president out of office for this! This wouldn’t even merit ink in Mexico.” This from a college-bound high school graduate.

  61. The CronoLink Says:

Being from Mexico, I’m a little baffled by this, as I’ve never encountered, either thru tv, newspaper, radio or even with people all these 7 years, this sort of thought that states that we think the US govt was responsible for the 9/11. I’ll have to look thru this poll a lil bit more thoroughly to see how was this done as I find the idea not only insane but utterly idiotic.
I mean, I was there that morning watching the news live and was pretty clear to me it was the job from some Arab nutjobs, and obviously made it to the top headlines of every major newspaper in the country, so I can only guess complete misinformation or ignorance (or even cherry picking the areas to make the polls). I’ll see what I can find about this.

  62. mightysamurai Says:

What are the stats for US citizens?

There have been a lot of US polls on this subject, but as far as I know there have been no polls of this same nature (i.e., open-ended) in the United States. Plus they were all taken at different times and using different questions, so it’s impossible to make a true comparison.

Would be interesting to find out, though.
