Introduction
December 09, 2002
As most of you know, I am in the midst of final exams and feeling the pressure. Balancing my studies with two jobs has been challenging, and my stress levels have been through the roof. Fortunately, my boyfriend-husband-figure knows just how to help me unwind and let off steam. He suggested a trip to the shooting range to "shoot the living hell out of some targets," and I eagerly agreed. And boy, was it the perfect stress-reliever.
Shooting like Annie Oakley
The day at the range turned out to be one of the best shooting experiences I've ever had. Starting with my trusty .38 Special, I surprised myself by landing all five shots near the center circle of the target. This was quite impressive considering wadcutters are not known for their accuracy, especially from a 2-inch barrel. Encouraged by my success, I continued to shoot with precision.
Next, I moved on to the CZ 9 mm and aimed at a human-shaped target. To my delight, I emptied a 10-round clip into the target's abdomen. With the next clip, I aimed for the head and successfully hit the right cheek, neck, and chest. The exhilaration of hitting my target was unmatched.
Blowing up CDs
Feeling confident in my shooting skills, we decided to blow up some old CDs at the range. With the .357 Magnum taking its toll on my body, I opted to use the .38 again. In just three shots, I obliterated a CD, leaving it in about 10 pieces. This feat was truly remarkable and a source of pride for me.
Impressed by my shooting, John generously offered the last CD for me to shoot. This time, I used the 9 mm and, after six shots, I shattered the CD into bits. Even a fellow shooter nearby was astonished by my accuracy.
Lessons learned and looking ahead
The day at the range was not without its moments of discomfort and pain. The recoil from the .357 Magnum left me with some bruises and aches, but it was a valuable lesson. However, the joy and sense of accomplishment I felt far outweighed any discomfort.
Shooting guns at the range proved to be an excellent stress-reliever, allowing me to channel my energy and focus. It prepared me for my upcoming finals and gave me a renewed sense of confidence. I even brought home my man-target to celebrate my shooting skills.
Conclusion
Shooting guns at the range turned out to be the perfect remedy for my exam-induced stress. It allowed me to release pent-up energy and gave me a much-needed confidence boost. I look forward to future trips to the range and the sense of empowerment and relaxation it brings. Life is good, and with the support of my loved ones and a healthy outlet for stress, I am ready to conquer anything that comes my way.
